What is Kasabian Archive, and how did it start?

Kasabian Archive, is the biggest collection of Kasabian media on the internet. The end goal of Kasabian Archive is to be the one-stop-shop to get hold of any Kasabian content you may be looking for. Whether you’re looking for live performances, interviews, photos, remixes or magazine articles, we’ll aim to have it on Kasabian Archive!

I started Kasabian Archive initially to just share some content with some friends through YouTube, before it eventually turned into something that others appeared to be interested in using. After the YouTube channel gained some success, I started an Instagram page to interact with other fans and people who enjoyed Kasabian Archive. After a little while, and frustrations with YouTube restrictions, I came up with the crazy idea to start a website. Initially, I used an easy drag-and-drop sort of site, which was very straightforward, but it soon became apparent that this basic setup was not quite going to cut it.

Fast forward a few months, and my new friend, Katia Sparks, introduced herself to me. Katia is an incredibly talented web developer, who convinced me to take the plunge and create a website from scratch. Katia is responsible for the website functioning how it should. She built the site from nothing, and turned it into what it is today. The content I have would have absolutely nowhere to live, and the website simply would not function without her work.

Why isn’t everything on Kasabian Archive?

With nearly 30 years since Kasabian first formed as Saracuse, the concept of Kasabian Archive is one hell of a task. On day one of the site being launched, the aim was to have the most in-demand content available. Just because the site is live to be used, that doesn’t mean our work has stopped. New content will be added to the site on a near-daily basis (though we are only human, so we need to rest sometimes!), whether that is a new live concert, some information being added to some of the pages or some new magazine articles. Be sure to check back regularly for new content!

Who are you? Are you officially associated with Kasabian?

First of all, no, we aren’t officially associated with Kasabian. I’m just a fan who has been collecting Kasabian content for around 15 years now, and has decided to put it all to something of use to the Kasabian community.

What is your logo all about?

The Kasabian Archive logo is lifted directly from some of Kasabian’s earliest releases. It is the earliest known iteration of the Ultraface logo, and appears to have been hand drawn.

Do you profit from Kasabian Archive?

No, this is a completely non-profit hobby. In fact, running Kasabian Archive has a few costs involved in hosting the site, which are billed annually. The YouTube channel is not eligible for monetisation, as are all social media channels. Currently, I run all costs from my own pocket. However, in the future, we may run a fundraising campaign to raise some money to keep the site active.

Why do you have no content on Tom Meighan’s solo career?

Following his legal issues in 2020, we have made the conscious decision to not endorse Tom’s solo career. This is a matter which we will discuss no further than on this post. We wish no harm to Tom, but we certainly could not endorse his career, in line with our own ethics.
